Vanitas pressures Mikhail to remember the incident where he killed Luna, the Vampire of the Blue Moon. When Vanitas attempts to shoot Mikhail using Dante's gun, Noé steps in to safeguard Dominique and demands answers regarding Vanitas' history. Vanitas declines to answer, leading to a fierce confrontation where he utilizes a green serum and grimoire power against Noé to shield his secrets. The combat ends in a stalemate with both fighters severely injured. Dominique jumps from a Ferris wheel to free Noé from his burden, but Jeanne rescues her. Noé recognizes Vanitas' refusal to form attachments and lowers his guard as Vanitas approaches with a knife.
