Mikhail, Vanitas' adoptive brother, kidnaps Dominique and sends Noé a letter containing her hair. Noé meets Mikhail at an amusement park, where Mikhail threatens Dominique's life to compel Noé to drink his blood. This act forces Noé to view Mikhail's memories, revealing that after his prostitute mother was killed by a vampire, he was taken in by the Chasseurs. Subsequently, he was captured by Doctor Moreau to serve as a test subject, which is where he first encountered Vanitas.
