Ep. 20: Fersen departs France for America after resolving his affair with the Queen

Guilt drives Fersen to frequent shady bars as rumors of his liaison with the Queen spread across France. Oscar, urged by Andre to forget the Count, relays a message from Antoinette requesting a meeting cancellation due to a royal guest. Oscar struggles to deliver this news, knowing the couple’s intense love prevents separation. Amidst street sales of scandalous nude drawings and the ongoing Revolutionary War in America, Oscar attends a ball in formal uniform to dance with Antoinette, preventing her from dancing with Fersen. Fersen thanks Oscar for this intervention and vows to leave France to spare the Queen further disgrace. He travels to America to join the fight, while Oscar secretly weeps, praying for his survival despite refusing to see him off.
