Ep. 40: Oscar dies during the Bastille storming, and years later friends recount the Revolution's tragic end.

Mortally wounded, Oscar urges the French Guards to seize Bastille Prison before dying on July 14, 1789, as the fortress surrenders an hour later. Five years later, Rosalie and Bernard visit Alain at his farm to discuss the fates of King Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette, Hans Axel von Fersen, and other revolution figures. While Polignac and other nobles fled, Fersen attempted to help the Royal Family escape but failed. The King, Queen, and their children were executed, with the Queen finding comfort in thoughts of Oscar. Robespierre and Saint-Just also died in political struggles, and Fersen was killed by citizens after becoming cold-hearted. Bernard begins writing a book about the French Revolution, while Oscar and Andre are buried together in Arras. On the morning of her execution, Antoinette gave Rosalie a paper flower to color in Oscar's favorite hue, but the group keeps it white to symbolize Oscar's enduring nobility.
