Aired on October 7, 2019

13
In November 1013 AD, Floki informs the King of Denmark that Danish forces defeated the English in Wessex, though he warns that Thorkell may have captured Canute. Elsewhere in Wales, Asser of Brycheiniog halts Askeladd’s group. Askeladd claims Welsh ancestry as a descendant of King Artorius and promises to protect Wales once England falls to the Danes. Unable to face the Welsh directly, Prince Canute remains silent. Consequently, Askeladd and his men surrender their weapons, posing as prisoners to secure safe passage through Brycheiniog. Upon reaching the northern edge of Mercia, the group changes direction to reunite with the main Danish army in Gainborough.
