Ep. 14: Askeladd's men raid a Christian village during a harsh northern Mercia winter storm

Askeladd and his warriors traverse northern Mercia, where they encounter severe early winter snows. Suffering from cold and hunger, the group discovers a Christian village and loots it, seizing all available food supplies. To prevent anyone from revealing their location, they murder the inhabitants. The sole survivor is a young woman who had left the village to seek penitence in the woods for stealing an inexpensive ring at a fair.
