Kenta and Machiko move into an inexpensive old apartment, only to discover an unwanted rat roommate. While Machiko is frightened, Kenta dismisses the issue, insisting they must adapt. That night, a rat scratches Machiko’s finger, causing it to bleed, and she hears squeaking from the walls. After her wound is bandaged, Kenta leaves for a two-day business trip, setting a trap to reassure her. Alone, Machiko struggles with her fear as the squeaking intensifies. When rats surround her bed, she endures the night. Two days later, Kenta returns home and calls out. Machiko answers with a creepy voice, welcoming him back. A clawed hand opens the bedroom door, and rats scurry out. Kenta screams in horror as a giant rat with a human face and braided pigtails emerges, smiling toothily and remarking that the pests really grew on her.
