Mizuki begins a petsitting business, taking a job from an elderly woman in the country who cannot walk her abandoned Shiba Inu, Umeta. After a detective warns her about local illegal corpse disposals, Mizuki chooses to stay despite the danger. Weeks later, she discovers a buried hand while walking Umeta. Her employer approaches with a knife, but the old woman is suddenly dragged away by a chomping sound. Police find the employer's body but not Umeta. Mizuki believes the dog saved her life. Upon returning home, she finds Umeta waiting at her door and greets him warmly. That night, Umeta is seen burying something in a park.
