A man wakes from a nap to find his wife Akiko cooking his favorite dinner. He feels a strong sense of déjà vu and notices his photo on the altar. When he asks Akiko about it, a bull's silhouette appears on the shoji screen. He realizes he is not repeating the same day, but has actually been home for three days since his death. Akiko confirms he has passed away. He thanks her for having him home again this year and bids her goodbye. Later, an elderly Akiko tells her grown daughter that her father has left for the year, though only she can see him. The daughter wonders if she will see him next year.
