Enraged by the victory’s nature, Jigoro drags Yawara off the stage and bans her from the awards ceremony. Amidst media speculation regarding Kojiro’s departure after being thrown by five-year-old Yawara, she flees, blaming judo for separating her family. Matsuda pursues her, confessing his feelings for the first time as she falls asleep on his shoulder. Meanwhile, Kojiro is approached by agents from the Honami Group. Sayaka commands them to hire Kojiro as her coach, sparing no expense to secure his services.
