Matsuda informs the Honamis that Yawara is quitting judo, believing it caused her father to leave. Sayaka doubts this, while Kojiro, residing at the Honami compound, refuses to see Yawara. Shinnosuke, Matsuda, and Fujiko dine with Yawara to discuss her choice, as she feels judo has only brought bad things. Seeking help, Fujiko visits Hanazono to persuade Yawara to stay. Hanazono shares how Yawara trained the high school judo club, inspiring Fujiko to start a judo club at Mitsuba to rekindle Yawara's interest. During this interaction, she and Hanazono accidentally hold hands again.
