With 250 meters remaining, Midosuji raises his hands in victory but notices Kinjou and Fukutomi closing in. A flashback reveals his tragic childhood and path to becoming a road racer. Ignoring signs of overexertion, he vows to keep moving at all costs. However, with 100 meters left, his legs begin to slow. At the 50-meter mark, Kinjou and Fukutomi overtake him, ending Midosuji's dream of dominating stage 2. As he faces an emotional breakdown, one of his perfect teeth cracks. Midosuji then declares himself just another loser, acknowledging his defeat in the race.
