Upon waking from the train, Yami and Téa are discovered by the sage Ironheart, his granddaughter Chris, and their dog Sky. Yami entrusts the Eye of Timaeus to Ironheart, noting it failed him in his previous duel. Seeking to rescue Yugi, Yami enters the valley of lost souls and locates Yugi’s spirit within a circle. Yugi angrily challenges him to a duel, employing the same strategy Yami used against Rafael and activating the Seal of Orichalcos. Despite Yami’s dismay at this dark turn, he ultimately prevails in the match. By defeating Yugi in this spiritual battle, Yami successfully overcomes the darkness residing within his friend’s soul.
