Yugi faces the Dark Magician with only 400 Life Points remaining. He uses Gold Sarcophagus to seal Monster Reborn, preventing Atem from reviving Slifer the Sky Dragon. After forcing Atem to sacrifice his monsters, Yugi wins the duel. He collapses in tears, realizing he will never see the Pharaoh again, but Atem comforts him, praising his kindness. The Pharaoh departs, the shrine collapses, and the Millennium Items fall into the pit, burying them forever. Shadi’s spirit appears briefly before everyone escapes. Yugi tells Joey that one adventure ends as another begins. In the Japanese version, the group returns to Domino City, meeting friends like Rebecca and Serenity. Various characters prepare for new duels, and the series concludes with Yugi stating his story extends beyond the Pharaoh’s defeat of Zorc Necrophades.
