Jaden and Syrus argue before a submarine arrives at Academy Island. The captain demands a duel, leading Jaden to suspect he is a Shadow Rider. The conflict resolves as a misunderstanding; the captain actually seeks to establish an underwater Duel Academy and wants Jaden to teach there. Jaden wins the duel but remains on the submarine. His friends, believing he stayed, return to the island by boat. Syrus regrets their final interaction being a fight. A week later, Jaden returns to explain the events, which cheers Syrus up.
