During Jaden’s second year at Duel Academy, Chancellor Sheppard has departed, leaving Dr. Crowler and Vice-Chancellor Bonaparte to lead the institution. While in his dorm, Jaden receives a duel challenge from a new student identified only as A.P. This student was dispatched by a mysterious fortune-teller who intended for him to lose, thereby testing Jaden’s dueling capabilities. Jaden secures a victory and subsequently learns from his friends that A.P. is actually Aster Phoenix, a Pro-League duelist considered superior to Zane. Although Jaden initially believes he defeated a professional, Dorothy reveals that Aster utilized a deck constructed from various random card packs. This revelation intensifies Jaden’s excitement for a future rematch against the skilled opponent.
