Chumley returns to Duel Academy alongside his boss, Maximillion Pegasus, to address a theft involving the Winged Dragon of Ra card. The card had been stolen by Pegasus' chief card designer, who was using it in the Gx tournament. Chumley provides Jaden with a new card to assist in the upcoming duel against the designer, Frantz. Frantz acted out of resentment for Chumley receiving all the credit for his designs. During the match, Frantz utilized a magic card to bind the dragon in chains. Jaden ultimately defeats Frantz by employing the field spell Skyscraper 2 - Hero City. Following the victory, Pegasus agrees to bring Frantz back.
