After stopping at a tea house in Kakegawa, Rin travels to Fukuda Beach on New Year's Day and camps at Ryuyokaiyo Koen Auto Camping Ground. Meanwhile, Chiaki Ohgaki, Aoi Inuyama, her sister Akari, and advisor Minami Toba climb Mount Minobu to watch the first sunrise. Rin observes the dawn near a torii gate at the beach, while Nadeshiko works her postcard delivery job. Chiaki plans to see the Diamond Fuji at Fujikawa for a second sunrise, but the sun rises before they arrive. Rin’s mother warns her about frozen roads on the return to Minobu and notes that her grandfather will pick her up in two days.
