Ep. 7: Yusuke defeats Gouki and confronts Kurama over the life-costing Forlorn Hope artifact

After hearing Botan’s voice, Gouki retreats and Yusuke returns home safely. He later defeats Gouki in a forest to recover an artifact. Yusuke then encounters Kurama, the second thief holding the Forlorn Hope, which grants any wish but demands the user's life. Kurama intends to sacrifice himself to cure his human mother Shiori, who suffers from a severe illness. Yusuke argues that Kurama’s death would only cause his mother further pain. To prevent this, Yusuke transfers some of his own life force into the mirror, sparing Kurama’s life. Yusuke ultimately claims the mirror, while Kurama feels relieved knowing his mother will survive.
