After ten days of travel, the group rests at a hot spring village. Lloyd worries about demons near Sylphess and stays to prepare. Daggas visits a weapon shop where thugs led by A rank adventurer Galland try to force a sale. Daggas fights them off. Silica practices flame magic to improve after relying on Lloyd during the attack on Ishtar. Daggas learns the owner has the greatshield Aegis, forged by legendary blacksmith Lyoness. Only a physically strong S rank warrior can use it, so he refused Galland. The owner offers the shield to Daggas for free if he finds the source of explosions in the forest scaring people. Silica apologizes for her explosions. The owner gives Daggas the shield as promised.
