Van and his group travel through the Valley of Heroes after defeating Captain Sepher's Unit. They arrive in the Wind City, which the Imperial Army has destroyed. Three guards piloting old Saber Fangs attack the Imperial Division, exacting revenge for the city's destruction. Meanwhile, Major Bord informs the guards that Van and his group are transporting an impostor Prince Rudolph. The guards pursue them, leading to a confrontation at the fighting grounds. Irvine disables one Saber Fang. Van defeats a second pilot but loses his boosters. He engages the third guard in an unarmed duel, winning by luck after the opponent becomes distracted.
