At the close of the 15th century in the Duchy of Milan, a young surgeon seeks to challenge existing medical knowledge and deepen his understanding of the human body. He encounters a painter with similar interests, who would eventually be recognized as Michelangelo. The manga includes an additional chapter beyond the standard count.
