A young girl discovers a talking frog who leads her to a mysterious door that opens to a hidden world. She meets a noblewoman and a ronin who are also connected to the door. The story explores their interactions and the consequences of crossing between worlds. A separate story follows a girl who cannot speak and a boy who finds her in the forest, eventually taking her in.
