Ten no Taka
Sky Hawk·天の鷹
Two samurai, Hikosaburô and Manzô, are exiled from Japan in 1868 during the Boshin War and later settle in the Crow territory of North America. While hunting, Hikosaburô finds a young Native woman named Running Deer, who has recently given birth and fled from white traders. The traders soon return to reclaim her, but she and the samurai are rescued by Crazy Horse, the Oglala chief. Over time, mutual respect and friendship develop between the samurai and the Native people, leading to the samurai being given the names Sky Hawk and Winds Wolf. They join the Oglalas in their resistance against the invading forces. The story includes an account of the Indian Wars of the era, ending with the Battle of Little Bighorn.
