On their way to Megalopolis Station, Tetsuro and his mother are ambushed by Count Mecha, with Tetsuro's mother being murdered in the process. However, Tetsuro is rescued by a mysterious beauty who looks just like his dead mother, who offers to take him on a trip on the Galaxy Express 999. The young boy seeks the body of a machine.
