In Daten City, a place existing between heaven and hell, malevolent entities called "Ghosts" roam, preying on human emotions such as desire and resentment. During these times of darkness, two individuals appear to vanquish these spirits using a form of divine light that defies human comprehension. Known as Panty & Stocking, the two are fallen angel sisters assigned the mission of ridding the world of this encroaching darkness. The nature of their true identities remains unclear, raising questions about whether they serve as divine messengers or as agents of the Devil.
