Shiranuhi

A 10-year-old boy named Minato lives in a coastal town in Kumamoto during late summer 1996, enduring a difficult life with his alcoholic father. He finds emotional refuge in Ben-chan, a young girl who is actually a goddess from Benten Island. Their time together is the only time Minato feels at peace. When he faces the possibility of being sent to a children's home and separated from Ben-chan, he makes a wish to the mysterious floating light known as Shiranuhi. His wish, driven by anger toward his father, turns into a curse.
