The war is not going well for Kazuki and his friends. The Earth Defense Force has been disavowed by the United Nations and left on the run in an artifact vessel. In her jealousy at seeing Kazuki rescuing Mitsuki Rara (the new pilot of Hartzenen) instead of her, Mitsuki Sanada is tricked into piloting the complete version of HIMC.
