Hearing about how Osamu and Nanako have already kissed, Takeo contemplates waiting for the right time to kiss Rinko, while Rinko gets advice from Makoto and Ai about if she should try to kiss him herself. On New Year's Day, Takeo's birthday, Rinko goes with Takeo on a shrine visit before coming over to his place, where they are visited by many of Takeo's old friends. After finally getting some time alone, Rinko works up the courage to kiss Takeo, only for him to not notice.
