A high school student named Saya Otonashi experiences amnesia, unable to recall the previous year of her life. After receiving a katana from a mysterious man, she becomes entangled in a larger conflict. She is drawn into battles against Chiropteran creatures—immortal beings that consume blood and can alter their appearance to blend in with humans. These entities pose a hidden danger to humanity. Saya joins forces with the Red Shield, an organization dedicated to eradicating the Chiropterans. As she confronts these threats, she begins to uncover the truth behind her past and the role she is meant to play.
