Tokyo Magnitude 8.0

A scenario is presented where a magnitude 8.0 earthquake strikes Tokyo, despite a 70% chance of only a magnitude 7.0 quake occurring within 30 years. The narrative follows Mirai, a middle school student visiting Odaiba Island with her older brother Yuuki for a robotics event at the start of summer. A massive tremor originating from an undersea trench causes Tokyo Tower and the Rainbow Bridge to collapse, dramatically altering the city. On Odaiba, Mirai and Yuuki encounter Mari, a delivery rider, who assists them in their attempt to return to their home in Setagaya, located in western Tokyo.
