The journey pauses over the Lutoni River for a flower tribute honoring war victims, prompting Wil to explain to Fiona that Allison’s father was executed by his own subordinate to prevent capture as a prisoner of war, given his likely role in military intelligence. Later, the train stops at Green Island to pick up Ker, who is in disguise, along with a Major from the Sou Beil military on assignment.
