Yukio distributes applications for a week-long boot camp to prepare students for the Exwire qualification exam, requiring them to select a Meister style for training. Igor Neuhaus instructs the class on summoning familiars, a rare Tamer ability, with only Izumo Kamiki and Shiemi demonstrating this skill. Shiemi seeks friendship with Izumo, who accepts, but Rin observes that Izumo exploits Shiemi’s kindness by assigning her errands. During a bathhouse visit, Noriko Paku is attacked by a naberius ghoul. Izumo’s white fox familiars betray her due to her fear, prompting Rin to advise destroying them. Shiemi heals Paku using her greenman familiar, Nee, while Rin fights the ghoul until Yukio arrives to shoot it, causing the creature to escape.
