Rin, Izumo, and Renzo undertake their inaugural mission as Exwires in a coastal town under Tsubaki’s supervision. After Izumo suffers a leg cramp and is rescued by Yohei, the group learns of a kraken plaguing the area. Yohei reveals his father vanished six months ago while hunting the beast, fueling his desire for revenge. The Exwires monitor Yohei to prevent him from entering the water. When the kraken attacks at sunset, Yohei attempts to harpoon it but is thrown into the sea. Rin saves Yohei and prepares to unleash demonic power, only to discover Yohei’s father is actually alive, surprising the boy.
