With the athletics carnival approaching, Osaka anticipates the new bread eating challenge, though Kagura’s speculation about fish hooks startles her. Tomo proposes a juice reward for victory, but Yukari refuses due to Nyamo’s opposition. Before the event, Kagura accidentally destroys Chiyo and Yomi’s tent and later irritates Yomi by criticizing her diet. On the day of the festival, Kimura expresses admiration for bloomers. During a costume race, Tomo and Chiyo win by clearing obstacles. Osaka struggles with the bread variety, while Kaorin reacts emotionally to seeing Sakaki in a gakuran. In the relay race, Tomo exhausts herself early, and Osaka’s strategy fails. Kagura compensates for the delay, but Chiyo falls behind and faces insults. Sakaki then sprints ahead to make up the time. Yukari runs the anchor leg against Nyamo, trampling her after being overtaken, which results in her class finishing last.
