Dan feels guilty over a prior argument and attempts to rescue the captured Jake, despite others discouraging him. Jake suddenly reappears in Neathia, claiming escape, yet Shun remains skeptical of his story. Dan grows suspicious when Jake proposes changes to the third shield. Later, Jake attempts to tamper with the shield controller to teleport to Dan, who had prepared a trap with Captain Elright. Jake reveals he and Coredem were brainwashed by Kazarina, leading to a battle. Dan struggles against Jake’s new, powerful ability card. Shun intervenes to defeat Coredem, but Jake does not recover and is reclaimed by Kazarina. Dan vows to rescue his friend from her control.
