Ep. 3: Seishu learns patience during a mochi contest after a manga mishap

Naru feels more mature due to improved kanji skills. Seishu visits the general store for ink, where he meets Tamako, who needs ink for a manga submission. He reads her draft and finds it inappropriate, though she remains confident. That night, Tamako plans to apologize but instead witnesses a scene between Seishu and Hiroshi that she interprets as yaoi. The following day, Seishu places second in a calligraphy contest against a younger rival. To lift his spirits, Naru and friends take him to a mochi-catching celebration for a new boat built by Kenta's father. Seishu struggles against stronger competitors until an elderly woman advises him to wait for the right moment. He eventually returns home to find a mochi soup prepared by one of the top participants for the villagers.
