Akamatsu Industries utilizes a failed scent-replicating device to defeat man-eating worms invading their headquarters, securing Mr. Akamatsu’s gratitude. This event marks the end of their subcontracting role with Mode Warp for the Algernon hunt. Fearing for the safety of employees Keita and Hinoki, Miyako Asami orders the transfer of neuronoids to Mode Warp and introduces two new trained head divers. Asami departs to consult Dr. Umezaki regarding recent creatures, but he focuses on Betterman. At his laboratory, Umezaki reveals shocking information to Asami. Meanwhile, the Akamatsu team is stunned when Sakura discloses that Asami is destined to be killed.
