Mato prepares for basketball camp while Yomi grows jealous of her childhood friend Yuu Kotari. Mato experiences dreams involving Black Gold Saw, and Saya shows interest in Yomi. Back at school, coach Arata Kohata finds a love letter she wrote displayed publicly. She suppresses tears before the crowd but realizes the mocking laughter behind her as Saya taunts her. In the other world, Black Rock Shooter attacks Black Gold Saw's hideout, eliminating minions, one resembling Arata. Simultaneously, Arata suffers sudden head pain and collapses unconscious in front of Mato.
