Feb 3, 2012In a parallel dimension, Black Rock Shooter fights a mysterious foe with red eyes. Back in the human world, Mato Kuroi starts middle school and befriends classmate Yomi Takanashi through their mutual love for a childhood book. Yomi invites Mato over, but Kagari Izuriha, a wheelchair user who wants Yomi to herself, arrives and acts hostile, frightening Mato. In the other world, Black Rock Shooter follows a green trail to a wasteland of broken toys and is attacked by Chariot, who resembles Kagari. After consulting student counselor Saya Irino, Mato resolves to befriend Yomi and invites her to a festival. Before Black Rock Shooter can counter Chariot, she is intercepted by Dead Master, a girl covered in chains.

During the chaos, Chariot attacks Black Rock Shooter and is killed. This event triggers a brief outburst from Kagari before she appears to return to normal.

In the other world, Black Rock Shooter attacks Black Gold Saw's hideout, eliminating minions, one resembling Arata. Simultaneously, Arata suffers sudden head pain and collapses unconscious in front of Mato.

When Kagari seeks advice to help Yomi, they witness Yomi arguing with Kagari's friends, leading to regret and isolation. Arata attempts to apologize, but Yomi does not remember him. A text from Yuu deepens Yomi's depression. Believing Kagari relies on her, Yomi reacts harshly when Kagari claims no such memory. This emotional turmoil impacts the other world, where Dead Master adopts a darker persona and confronts Black Rock Shooter.

Yuu reveals the dream world is real, where figures embody real-world sorrow; killing them erases associated memories. She explains that defeating Dead Master would make Yomi forget her grief. Yuu induces a deep sleep, transferring Mato's consciousness into Black Rock Shooter to offer a non-violent solution. However, Mato arrives to find Dead Master already slain, causing Black Rock Shooter's blue eye to turn purple.
EP 6Mato collapses as Black Rock Shooter becomes Insane Black Rock Shooter and fights Black Gold Saw
Mar 9, 2012Mato faints from pain after Black Rock Shooter transforms into Insane Black Rock Shooter and tears off her own arm to battle Black Gold Saw. Yuu cannot retrieve her, so Saya takes Mato to prevent destruction but refuses to kill her. Saya sends Yuu’s mind into Black Gold Saw to communicate with Mato, revealing how Saya befriended the bullied Yuu after a house fire incident awakened their connection. In the present, Strength replaces Black Gold Saw to fight Black Rock Shooter, allowing Saya to return. Strength overwhelms Black Rock Shooter during the intense combat. Meanwhile, Yomi returns to school without any memory of Mato, leaving the situation unresolved as the battle concludes.

Mar 16, 2012Mato regains consciousness and attempts to stop Black Rock Shooter but hesitates upon realizing she has been avoiding her true feelings. Strength suddenly goes berserk, revealing herself to be the real Yuu. She explains that she gained emotions when the sorrowful Yuu contacted her, preventing Yuu from dying. Yuu chose to swap places with Strength so that Mato would be forced to face reality rather than hiding in a world of fighting. Meanwhile, news of Mato’s absence reaches school, causing Yomi to feel heart pain and remember their friendship, which leads to the reawakening of Dead Master.

Mar 23, 2012Mato enters a blue dimension as Black Rock Shooter to fight Insane Black Rock Shooter, aiming to save Strength from Yuu. Kagari and Arata recover memories, and revived individuals from the other world empower Mato to defeat her foe. Strength weakens but thanks Mato and assures Yuu she will make friends before vanishing. Yuu returns to her body, and Mato reunites with Yomi after waking. The group becomes friends as life normalizes, with Strength and Black Rock Shooter returning to their realm. The story concludes with Black Rock Shooter declaring she will keep fighting.
