Mato regains consciousness and attempts to stop Black Rock Shooter but hesitates upon realizing she has been avoiding her true feelings. Strength suddenly goes berserk, revealing herself to be the real Yuu. She explains that she gained emotions when the sorrowful Yuu contacted her, preventing Yuu from dying. Yuu chose to swap places with Strength so that Mato would be forced to face reality rather than hiding in a world of fighting. Meanwhile, news of Mato’s absence reaches school, causing Yomi to feel heart pain and remember their friendship, which leads to the reawakening of Dead Master.
