Blade travels with Noah van Helsing and his dog Razor on a vessel commanded by Captain McRay. Makoto secretly boards the ship intending to assassinate Blade. Noah administers a Retrovirus injection to Blade and recounts his history of finding and raising the vampire. During the voyage, the ship is assaulted by creatures known as Mandurugos. Makoto sets aside her desire for revenge to help Blade survive an attack by the Mandrurugo leader, Matthes. Blade defeats Matthes by injecting her with the Retrovirus. The remaining Mandurugos retreat, carrying Matthes' corpse and Noah van Helsing away with them.
