Kon saves Miyuki from drowning after meeting Rangiku Matsumoto, but is swapped with her stuffed animal Shintarou. Miyuki asks Kon to play because she has no friends. Kon visits her old home, learning Shintarou was her former dog. A two-headed hollow attacks them, revealed to be the combined souls of Shintarou and a Doberman Pinscher. Rangiku defeats the hollow. Kon urges Miyuki to make her own friends instead of relying on him. This event occurs during the Arrancar: The Hueco Mundo Sneak Entry arc, specifically episode 4 of 20.
