In Hueco Mundo, the Arrancar Patros and his subordinates steal the Orb of Distortion and kill Espada Ulquiorra Schiffer. Refusing to obey former Soul Reaper Sousuke Aizen, Patros intends to use the orb to seize control of Las Noches. He travels to Kisuke Urahara’s shop, believing someone there can operate the artifact. There, Patros engages Renji in combat while other Soul Reapers battle his subordinates. The conflict escalates as both factions clash. Meanwhile, Ulquiorra unexpectedly appears in the real world, completely unharmed and showing no signs of the fatal injuries he sustained earlier. This event occurs during the Arrancar: The Hueco Mundo Sneak Entry arc.
