Muramasa obstructs Ichigo’s rescue of Yamamoto, provoking him to unleash Hollow powers. Yoruichi, Ukitake, and Kyouraku detect the deception and break from their foes. Muramasa tricks Ichigo into firing a Getsuga Tenshou, deflecting it to shatter Yamamoto’s barrier. This allows Muramasa to steal Ryuujin Jakka, which Yamamoto had hidden to prevent theft. Katen Kyoukotsu and Sougyo no Kotowari attack Muramasa but are destroyed by the stolen Zanpakutou. Muramasa escapes with Ryuujin Jakka, while Yamamoto reveals his plan to destroy the Thirteen Court Guard Squads.
