Kenpachi arrives just before Wabisuke kills Kira, easily defeating Wabisuke and rendering Kira unable to use his zanpakutou. Yachiru Kusajishi explains their absence by claiming they were hunting hollows and got lost. Senbonzakura attacks Kenpachi but is overwhelmed by his immense spiritual power, which destroys a wide area. Byakuya intervenes to fight Kenpachi, allowing Senbonzakura to resume battling Ichigo. Meanwhile, Yumichika breaks free from Ruri'iro Kujaku's binding vines and defeats him, reclaiming his zanpakutou. This event occurs during the Zanpakutou Unknown Tales arc, specifically episode 15 out of 26.
