Rukia reaches the execution area while Gin Ichimaru disrupts her determination by feigning assistance before retracting the offer. In the ongoing conflict, Kenpachi easily overpowers Komamura and Tousen, compelling Tousen to deploy his bankai and eliminate all of Kenpachi's senses except touch. Despite this sensory deprivation, Kenpachi locates and wounds Tousen, but Komamura intervenes to prevent the kill. Komamura then activates his bankai to engage Kenpachi directly. Meanwhile, Rukia successfully arrives at the execution grounds. This narrative occurs during the Soul Society: The Rescue arc, specifically episode 12 of 22.
