Jul 8, 2013Staz Charlie Blood, a vampire boss living as an otaku, meets human Fuyumi Yanagi and becomes infatuated. While Staz fights a challenger wielding demon plants with help from his second-in-command Deku, Fuyumi is killed by a rogue plant. Staz discovers her bones and ghostly form, deducing she became a spirit, and vows to resurrect her. Fuyumi recalls entering the Demon World and leads Staz to a dimensional portal called the Black Curtain. Staz prevents her entry, explaining its dangers, and decides to visit the Human World himself. At a cafe, owners Saty and Mamejirō use Third Eye magic to analyze Fuyumi’s state. To manage his absence, Staz appoints new recruit Mimic Yoshida as a body double who transforms into his likeness. After a welcoming party where Deku confirms Staz’s determination, Staz and Fuyumi step through the Black Curtain together.

He sprays her upset father with diluted saliva to control him, claiming it manipulates humans. Excited by the human world, Staz sprays the entire school population with his saliva, creating false memories that allow Fuyumi to blend in seamlessly. However, Fuyumi’s body begins to disappear, prompting Staz to have her drink his blood to restore her demon existence. Staz notes a lack of interest in drinking human blood other than from Fuyumi. They return home to find Bell Hydra, who reveals she did not willingly leave the Black Curtain and knew about Staz's doppelganger. Staz wrongly assumes blackmail, but Bell uses spatial magic to threaten Fuyumi’s life unless Staz retrieves an item from a demon clothing store. Bell explains she seeks the thief of the Black Curtain. After a pointless fight with the store owner, Bell reveals Fuyumi can only be revived by the Book of Human Resurrection, sold to Wolf, the boss of the Demon World's Western District. The episode ends with Staz shocked to learn Wolf is his old friend and rival.

During the fight, Staz secretly absorbs Wolf’s magic through a bite, turning the tide despite Wolf’s transformation and insults. The match ends when a tearful Fuyumi and Bell intervene, transporting everyone away. Bell then admits she held the book all along. Staz and his companions fail to read the anagrammatic text, realizing only the author can decipher it. Shocked, Staz discovers the author is his older brother, Braz D. Blood, who resides in the Demon World Acropolis.

Bell brings Staz to Acropolis to provoke him, but he sneaks into Braz’s castle and is captured by Liz T. Blood. Liz imprisons Staz in "Liz's Toy Box," where inmates trick him into opening a corridor. In the epilogue, Liz explains inmates may leave by defeating her zombies, a feat no one has achieved.

Wolf agrees to defeat Akim in exchange for returning Fuyumi to her ghost form. Braz offers Staz a deal to teach resurrection in exchange for help, but Staz refuses. After Braz removes the seal, Staz awakens his true power and defeats the zombies. Meanwhile, Wolf fights the North District boss, only for Akim to appear by ripping through him. Braz later picks up a crushed boulder, reminding Liz of Staz's power.

Wolf defeats Akim through hand-to-hand combat, but Staz intervenes, knocking Akim into the northern wasteland and taking Wolf’s place after Wolf’s magic depletes. Staz attacks Akim with magical punches, eventually using a golden hand spell to annihilate him. Staz allows Akim to reconstruct himself, citing his power as a burden, before seemingly killing him with his ZIP spell. Wolf challenges Staz to a fight. Bell brings Akim’s remains to Franken, learning his core body was stolen by a third party. Braz and Liz imprison Franken and Akim in the Toy Box. Staz refuses to fight Wolf at full strength. Braz requests to meet the girl Staz intends to resurrect. Wolf loses his way returning to the West District.

He departs for Acropolis, leaving Liz behind while secretly planning to extract Staz’s magic from the sample. Staz shows Liz the Eastern District and buys her a stuffed animal. Later, Staz deduces Braz forbade Liz from returning to Acropolis, so she stays with him and sees his otaku collection. A strange blond man observes them. Fuyumi and Liz bond while bathing and sleeping together. The next day, Liz finds a note stating Fuyumi left and should not be followed. Staz and others suspect kidnapping and search for clues. Liz reveals Braz planted a tracker on Fuyumi. Staz asks Liz to return to Acropolis for Braz’s help. Mamejirō, Saty, Yoshida, and Deku find a lead on the blond suspect heading south in the Demon World. In the epilogue, Staz uses his new flight ability to search for Fuyumi.
