Kawaki stays suspicious of the assassins and accompanies Himawari to the academy where Hana sensei returns. The class prepares a welcome surprise for her. After class, Hana reflects on Shino and Anko’s information regarding the incidents at the academy, the targeting of Kae, and her own forgotten actions. Seeing Kawaki in the afternoon triggers a memory of her puppeteering the disguised bomber. She locates a secret hideout where a separate personality emerges, revealing she was raised by the minister of the Land of Bamboo as an assassin sent to the Leaf after the Fourth Great Shinobi War. This assassin persona permanently takes over the teacher self to fulfill her mission. Kawaki remains vigilant and asks Kae if he and Himawari can investigate her house again.
