Ep. 1: Unemployed gamer Ryouta Sakamoto wakes on an island forced to play the real-life version of Btooom!

Ryouta Sakamoto, a 22-year-old unemployed top-ranked player of the MMO Btooom!, awakens on a tropical island with amnesia. He possesses a bag, BIMs, and a bead on his left hand. He encounters Yoshiaki Imagawa, who attacks him with bombs. Flashbacks reveal a dispute with his mother over job hunting and a meeting with two men before his memory vanished. Ryouta realizes he is forced to play Btooom! for real. Although he struggles with morality, he is cornered and forced to fight back. He sets a trap using a timer-BIM on a cliff, jumping into the ocean to kill his assailant. Later, he dreams of another argument with his mother and stumbles through the jungle, finding a girl refreshing herself by a river.
